The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is a statutory body established on 1st July, 1949 by an Act of Parliament, viz., The Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 for regulating the profession of Chartered Accountants in the country. ICAI is having 175 Branches covering the length and breadth of the country. ICAI has presence in 75 global cities of the World with 44 overseas Chapters and 31 Representative Offices spanning in 47 countries. It is worthwhile to mention that the ICAI regulates nearly 3,90,000 members and has an active student base of nearly 8,62,996. It is the one of the premier accounting bodies in the world and represented at all the international forums on accountancy.
The Northern India Regional Council is a constituent body of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. The NIRC was set up on 1st April, 1952 (then known as Delhi Regional Council and comprising the then States of Delhi, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Patiala and East of States Union) presently represents its over 75,739+ Chartered Accountants professionals and 1,26,171 students spread across the states of Haryana, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, NCT of Delhi, Punjab and Union Territory of Chandigarh. Members are either in practice or holding eminent positions in various Industries as well as in Government Organisations.
The NIRC (2022-25) is composed of 13 elected Members, 12 elected Students Association alongwith 6 Central Council Members and 7 Central Government Nominee members who are from MCA, CAG, SEBI, MOF and other stakeholders etc. The Regional Council Headquarters is at New Delhi (ICAI Bhawan, 4th & 5th Floors, Annexe Building, Indraprastha Marg, New Delhi – 110002). The NIRC of ICAI has 25 Branches, 43 CPE Study Circles, 6 CPE Chapters and 13 Centres and Reading Rooms – cum-Libraries.

We want to promote Professional Growth through a network of activities and events. We are going to foster a vibrant CA community that encourages knowledge exchange, collaboration, & mutual growth.
We want to guide and extend unwavering support to Newly Qualified CAs, Students, & Senior Members by establishing mentorship programs, counseling services, & a robust support system to navigate challenges they all faced.
We want to facilitate specialized training programs, workshops, & partnerships to equip our members with niche skills including tech-edge fields, ensuring they stay ahead in the digital age.
